Progress on Levels but no game update


While a great deal of things were accomplished this week I didnt want to update the game.  Reason is, many of the updates come in the form of "under the hood" and you wouldnt see much if any progress.

What was accomplished?

  1.  A travel system and map has been created and now works. You will be able to click the map icon and select the region or location you wish to go to. Currently only two places available as the game fills out I will be adding more locations.
  2. Rebuilt and retested the combat system/dice roller and will hopefully get that working in the main game (Not just the testing project)
  3. A COMPLETE revamp on the character leveling system. More on this below.

Character Levels. Originally I mentioned it would be a 20 level character with adjustable stats. At some point the system I built stopped working, reliably. Either the bubble gum stopped being sticky or the shoestring broke I'm not sure.

But that was a good thing, this issue forced me to go back to the design I originally wanted to build. Which I had turned away from it because it was more complicated to structure and keep track of. But now I learnt it has less moving parts to break.

How it will work.

Now each skill and core ability (Physical, mental and personality) will have 10 levels. If you want to get a better physique(Physical) you do fitness tasks/jobs. Want to get better at magic, use magic in combat. Wanna #$%! better, go have a bunch of sex.

The screenshot is from the testing project. It is a crude but working character sheet. In the future once all skills are worked out I want to include a gauge, portrait and a full screen that makes you feel like your looking at a character sheet.
